November 29th is the Sunday after Thanksgiving… and it’s also the first night of the Advent season.
By then, we’ll likely be the good kind of tired… full of food and family and looking ahead to the upcoming merry season. But we have the chance to gather on this first night of Advent and mark it in an intentional way.
As I’ve talked to people over the years, I’ve found that many of us didn’t grow up understanding Advent or knowing how to incorporate this season into our Christmas rhythms. You may even be wondering why it matters? But, oh how it matters!
Now, you won’t find a bigger Christmas fan than me. I’m here for the merriment, festivity, gifts, songs, and togetherness. I truly love everything about it. But I’ve learned that a rhythm of Advent reflection and expectation can make the arrival of Christmas all the sweeter. In our self-reliant, high-capacity, over-scheduled culture, we can run 90-to-nothin’ right up to Christmas Eve only to find out that just about the time we’re able to slow down and reflect, it’s all over. I believe there’s a much better way.
We weren't made to be self-sufficient or self-reliant. We were made to need refuge and rest, as well as to reflect and remember. Advent invites us to practice hopeful expectation in our lives and in doing so, to make way for all those things. This is the same posture of hopeful waiting several of God’s servants embraced before a King came as a baby to a place no one else was watching.
Let’s not miss the arrival of the King into the unexpected places of our lives. Let’s look for Him instead. A Thrill of Hope isn't a concert to watch or a party to attend. It's a table to sit around together, and a season to actually enter instead of just survive.
You’ll be gathered at a table with your people, where there will be community with them and teaching from me as we talk about approaching this season with intention.
I'll have some special friends joining me for live music that night. (More on that very soon!)
Importantly, there will be coffee and dessert. There will also be laughter and fun (because Advent isn’t meant to be grim or solemn) and together, we’ll mark the start of a beautiful and meaningful season. I’ll also get you out in two hours because I’m not a maniac and people have lives. :)

Nov 14 - Nov 29 | $69/per person
This event is NOT “women only” and is open to women, men, singles, marrieds, church small groups, neighborhood Bible study groups, and families with middle school age kids or older.
Each table seats eight. Purchase eight tickets together in one order, and you'll automatically be seated together as your own table, no extra step, no separate form. Bring your spouse, your small group, a couple of neighbors you've been meaning to invite somewhere real, and claim the whole table as yours.
Coming with fewer than eight, or coming solo? That's just as good. We'll seat you at a table with others. Some of the best conversations tend to happen at the tables nobody planned in advance.
Want to sit with someone specific? If there's anyone else registering separately that you want to share a table with, list their full name(s) in the box when you register. We'll do our best to seat you together.
Pricing tiers are necessary to reward those who opt-in early and help us prepare adequately for food, beverages, and materials.
Tickets are non-refundable, but remain fully transferrable should you not be able to attend once you’ve purchased your ticket.
