Living Hope
The book of 1 Peter wasn't written to a few people who were simply having a rough week. This passionate letter was written to exiles, people scattered from their home, and who were experiencing real persecution. These believers had genuine reasons to give up on hope altogether. Peter doesn't skip past that. Instead, he names the hardship, but then hands them something more enduring than a pep talk: a living hope, anchored in the resurrection of Jesus, kept for them no matter what their circumstances currently looked (or felt) like.
This hope wasn’t just for them back then, but for us, today. In this study, we’ll talk about what living hope actually requires. Not denial. Not performance. But a willingness to live like this world isn't your final home, to let holiness grow out of identity instead of obligation and to trade the exhausting job of trying to control every outcome for the far better practice of entrusting them to God. Because we were never meant to carry what only He can hold.

2 Peter reads like a man who knows he's running out of time…because he was. These are Peter's last recorded words before his death, and he doesn't waste them. He opens his letter with this powerful declaration: God's power has already given you everything required for life and godliness. Not almost everything.
